Rick Walter has had a long career as a sportswriter and editor at the Hartford Courant, Syracuse Herald-Journal, Newsday, the Los Angeles Times and Golf Magazine, before becoming the communications director and writing instructor at the Writers Center in Washington, D.C. in 2001. In 2007, he moved to Seattle to teach writing workshops and became the sports editor of Tacoma Weekly in 2008.

Sean is a sports enthusiast that on occasion writes his thoughts on the state of sports. A fan of all sports, though not so much if they include choreography. Having worked at several papers on both coasts he has a national perspective on sports. Look for his writing and photographs both on this site and in the Tacoma Weekly.
