Curtis High School lacrosse player Taylor Dean was named to the first team of the all-state lacrosse team by The Washington High School Boys Lacrosse Association today.

Curtis lacrosse faces Mercer in quarterfinals

Colby Carr and Taylor Dean each had 3 goals as Curtis survived two late goals by Overlake to advance to the state lacrosse quarterfinals in a 7 – 6 opening round playoff win, Wednesday at Curtis High School.

SPORTSWATCH: Cobras, Lacrosse and Track

Running back Marcus Reed tallied 197 yards on 19 carries for the Tacoma Cobras as they defeated the Northwest Terminators 27-8 in an exhibition game on May 15 at Curtis High School.
The Cobras took the lead in the first quarter on a five-yard touchdown run by Reed.

We’d Welcome Lacrosse, Will WIAA?

On Friday, April 23, the WIAA Rep Assembly will vote on amendments to sanction boys and girls lacrosse.  Odds are it will not; but we hope it will. If not this year, at some point soon.  Around this area, Curtis boasts a very solid team, ranked top in its division with some talented D1 level players. Here is a recent article from the Seattle Times about the sport’s chances of getting the nod the WIAA this year.

SPORTSWATCH: Curtis Lacrosse is No.1

Curtis held onto its top spot in Division 1 (Southwest) in Washington High School Boys lacrosse with a recent 16-4 win over Vashon last week. Taylor Dean, a top D1 recruit, is leading the way for the Vikings. Dean has 23 goals and seven assists so far this season. Colby Carr is doing some damage, too. Carr has 17 goals and seven assists. The Vikings’ next game is at Bothel High on April 15 at 7 p.m.
