The foul air of bad officiating hit critical mass last night during the Bellarmine Prep vs. Moses Lake game. The game was really not pretty.
The Lions won, 65-55, in a game marked by spasms of good basketball but overhwhelmingly effected by officiating that was confusing to say the least. A total of 47 fouls were called, many either wrong or inconsequential and a dozen or so were NOT called that the band Third Eye Blind could sing anthems about. If they hadn’t been refereeing a basketball game last night. The refs admittedly don’t get much love from the coaches, players and fans, but, hey, sometimes they just don’t deserve much. More on this later after we check in with the head of the Washington Officials Association and WIAA.
